Diana Tong

Diana was born in China and graduated from Jilin University with a bachelor degree in International Law in 1984. She was amongst the first group of lawyers to be licensed to practice law in China in 1990s after the Cultural Revolution. She was a corporate lawyer for six years mainly dealing with foreign investment and trade laws in Beijing before coming to Australia. Diana completed her LLM degree from the University of Sydney and has been an Australian registered migration agent since 1993.

Diana joined Parish Patience Solicitors and Attorneys in January 1996 and became a partner in July 1999. Parish Patience Immigration Service Pty Ltd was registered as a company in 2007 and Diana has been a director since.  Diana headed up the growing China-based operation in Australia and overseas, making frequent trips to Asian countries consulting overseas clients on regular basis. She wrote about immigration issues for community newspapers and was on talk-back community radio. She has been spokesperson for visiting foreign delegations and groups.

With over 20 years of extensive experience in immigration law practice, Diana handles all areas of immigration law work, including applications for short visit visas for tourism, visiting family, business activities, for medical treatment or any other special purposes visitor visas. She also handles long – term temporary work, such as 457 visa, student visa, SC420 entertainment visa, retirement visa, and business and investment visas followed by permanent visa such as SC188 and 890-892 visa, RSMS/187 Visa and ENS/186 visa, as well as independent and state sponsored/nominated migration visas and refugee work and citizenship application. Diana also works on visa cancelation, MRT and other areas of immigration law. Diana’s clients include students, professional, business people, families and businesses such as international airlines, foreign and Australian government agencies, motor vehicle industries, restaurants/clubs, hotels, internet service providers, mining, IT and real estates, manufacturers, finance companies, merchant banks, medical and welfare services as well as charity organizations and retail sector.

Diana leads the business immigration section of the company. Diana speaks Mandarin and is passionate about protection of animals and nature environments. Diana is a member of Migration Institute of Australia.
