Gabriel Mackenzie

Gabriel is a highly experienced immigration lawyer who provides expert advice to clients across all classes of visa applications. With more than ten years’ experience in immigration law, she leverages very strong knowledge of complex and constantly changing immigration requirements to create robust visa applications across employer sponsored, family, skilled migrant, business, student, refugee and humanitarian visas. She brings particular expertise advising on application strategies that minimise the risk of refusal, and in managing relationships with the Department of Home Affairs and Federal Circuit & Family Court of Australia (FCFCA) throughout the application process.

Gabriel is skilled in working with clients from around the globe, and providing an expert legal service that incorporates a compassionate understanding of each client’s circumstances. With strong ability to present compelling arguments and cases for approval, she has extensive experience in appearing at the Administrative Appeal Tribunal (AAT) and the FCFCA.

As an experienced people manager, Gabriel has led small teams to deliver exceptional outcomes across diverse client bases. She has also led capability building for junior staff, including coaching them on ethics, communication strategies and providing advice to clients.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail, Gabriel has a proven ability to effectively manage high-volume caseloads, and keep meticulous case notes and files. She’s also experienced with immigration and legal management systems including LEAP and Migration Manager.

Gabriel has successfully secured visas across all categories for numerous clients during her career. Prior to working in immigration law, she had a successful sixteen-year career in criminal and civil law practices.
