The client had overstayed in Australia with an 8503 (no further stay) condition attached to her original visitor visa. We successfully addressed compelling and compassionate reasons and managed to waive the 8503 visa condition, allowing her to apply for a subclass 820/801 partner visa onshore. While waiting for the long processing of visa application, the sponsor unfortunately passed away. We addressed her genuine relationship and her ties to Australia, and ultimately, the client obtained her permanent residency very soon after the sponsor’s death was reported.
